Wake Forest welcomes Virgilio’s

“La Dolce Vita Abboudante!”  I love this…translation is “The abundant sweet life!”  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were all able to live abundantly sweet lives?  I’d like to introduce you to one of the newest residents and business owner’s in our wonderful town of Wake Forest.

In early December, Margarita Dixon, relocated her eclectic & historically rich business to Wake Forest.  Virgilio’s specializes in premium vinegars, oils and edibles.  I had the pleasure of visiting the shop and meetinDSC03279g Margarita just last week.  I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere;  there is a definite feel of Old World, authentic ambience.  And then there was Margarita herself.  I was welcomed with a huge smile & made to feel appreciated for visiting.

Born in Brooklyn, Margarita has spent much of her time in business in the town of Kernersville, NC.  It was a 2 year process to obtain the perfect location in downtown Wake Forest.  If you haven’t noticed it yet, Virgilio’s is located at 113 S. White Street;  in the former location of Mimosa’s.

When I inquired about her average customer, I was surprised to learn that there is no average customer. There is truly something for everyone offered at Virgilio’s.  If you are a total foodie, passionate about healthy eating, avoidDSC03275ing gluten, lover of wine, passionate about life and having fun…you must check this place out.  Hours are Monday thru Thursdays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Fridays from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

On the Virgilio’s website, Margarita talks about creativity being a trait that everyone possesses and we express it differently.  I agree when she states that passion is what drives us in all that we feel and do.  At Virgilio’s, passion is celebrated;  a passion for faith, family, friends and FOOD.  She uses the expression “flavorDSC03280 savor heaven” to describe the exotic items found in the store.  She’s got my attention there!  In fact, I am so excited to have made my first purchase tonight!  She was very helpful as I described what my tastebuds were “thinking.”

Located in the store as well is the Wine Shop.  Wine tastings are held the second Friday of each month.  In addition, you may host wine tasting parties, meetings & gatherings.  Actually, there is an all day wine tasting this Saturday, December 20th from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  If you attend, I want to hearDSC03276 about it please!  Cooking demos are also held regularly.  There is a Grand Opening party in January 2015.  You can stay in the know about events by visiting the Virgilio’s schedule online.

There is so much that I could say about this remarkable woman and her business;  I want you to experience it all!  If you are on Facebook, please be sure to check out Virgilio’s Premium Vinegars, Oils and Edibles.  There is a lot of great & inspiring information posted daily!  There is even a recipe of the day! In her own words, Margarita is “very excited to be here, be a part of our community and we’re going to have fun!”  Sounds like an abundant sweet life to me!  We welcome Margarita and the Virgilio’s staff to our home!  Please enjoy some of the photos I took while in the shop.
