The Wake Forest Farmer’s Market, located at 150 N. White Street in historic downtown Wake Forest, is open year round and offers a wide variety of fresh, local and homemade goods! With over 20 local venders participating regularly, the selection is abundant: fresh fruits & vegetables, pasture-raised beef, lamb & pork, free-range chickens & eggs, fresh seafood, cheese, fresh baked goods, homemade pasta & sauces, honey & jams, flowers and a variety of arts and crafts!
The Farmer’s Market offers a chance, not only to buy local goods from your neighbors, but also to meet the people who worked hard to produce it for you. The Market has turned into a true community event over the years and they even offer special classes and workshops on occasion. This Saturday two classes will be offered:
- 9:30am – 11:00am – Joy Thomas and Linda Tilley will teach “Sheep to Scarf: A Summer’s Fiber Journey”. Everything you would want to know about washing, drying and various techniques for dyeing fiber!
- 10:00am – 11:30am – Tonya Peel will teach a “Kiddie Garden Bites Class”. Children will get the chance to walk through the market and meet the farmers, learn about seasonal fruits & vegetables, and learn how to create dishes from the fresh produce they learn about!
The Market will be open this Saturday 8am-12pm, for a complete list of hours and more information about the vendors, check out their website: www.WakeForestFarmersMarket.org. Hope to see you out there!
