May 5, 2018 is the date to be in Wake Forest, NC. Why? Why? Do you really need to ask why? It is time for the annual festival of all Wake Forest festivals…. Meet In The Streets. Are you new to our community? If so, this is a Do Not Miss event.
There will be over 200 artisans displaying their wares for you to enjoy and purchase. All of your favorite festival foods as over 20 food vendors and food trucks will be setting up shop in downtown Wake Forest, NC! Do not forget all of the live entertainment as well.
This year the festival will run from 10AM to 5PM and free parking will be available in a variety of locations. There is ample parking and handicap accessible parking is offered at the SunTrust building and at the Depot parking lot on South White Street. Additional information about parking can be found at all times on the wonderful Town of Wake Forest web page https://www.wakeforestnc.gov/MITS-parking.aspx.
Want a handy guide to Meet in The Street? One that fits in your pocket or purse? Smartphone users (Android and iPhone) can download the Wake Forest town app and there you will find a “Meet In The Street” button. The interactive map will really be helpful and fun to use. Man oh Man….we have come a long way in a short period of time with technology for the residents of Wake Forest.
Free and open to the public, Meet In The Street is always jam packed with so much to do. On a personal note, my wife Jennifer and I attended one back in 2004 and bought the coolest hand made rustic bench. The wood grain and the feeling I get everyday using it for the past 14 years has certainly been worth the purchase. Fact is I enjoy it as much today as the day we brought it home.
The Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce along with sponsor – Engine Masters are expecting over 30,000 people to enjoy the day. There will be two stages with performers ranging from live music to to magicians, to youth bluegrass groups, dancers, and so much more.
Want to experience something cool? Check out the Young Entrepreneur’s Fair portion of the event…. There will be 25 vendors ranging in age from 9 – 14 selling homemade/handmade wares themselves. What a fun way to see the talents of our youth in Wake Forest. There will be a fire truck exhibit, a bicycle safety course and a food court!
Many of the downtown streets will be closed for the day. But do not let that stop you from visiting many of our local favorites. Whether it be an antique store, the Cotton Company, Sugar Magnolia’s, or our friends at B & W Hardware you will not be disappointed. The weather appears to be shaping up nicely – will we see you there?
There is a free shuttle service this year. Two YMCA busses will run from Sam’s Club in Wake Forest right to downtown. This will run all day from 9:30AM to 5PM.
From our perspective here at the Kima Real Estate Group, this is one more reason why so many people choose the greater Wake Forest area to call home. Festivals like this along with the weather have the Wake Forest NC Real Estate market hopping! Homes for sale in Wake Forest NC continue to set a record pace.
