Wake Forest Tree Seedling Giveaway, Saturday, March 3 ~ 8AM

The UFB….ok, what in the world is the UFB????  Let’s start again, The Wake Forest Urban Forestry Board (Ahhh, the UFB) is hosting its sixth annual tree seedling giveaway on Saturday, March 3.  This is the type of event that makes Wake Forest, well…Wake Forest.  Over 3700 flowering dogwood. eastern redbud, persimmon, and Shumard oak tree seedlings will be handed out FREE of charge to Wake forest residents.  Of course for those of us not in the know on how to plant these there will be certified arborists on hand.

If you are planning to attend you are encouraged to bring your own reusable shopping tote so as to reduce the number of plastic bags used.  There will be no sign ups as it is a first come, first serve basis.  More information can be found by contacting Evan Keto at eketo@wakeforestnc.gov or 919.435.9565.
