Do we need to Repair or Replace the Bridges in Heritage?

State DOT has announced their plan to replace the Smith Creek bridge on Rogers Road & Sanford Creek bridge on Forestville Road. The DOT plans to get contracts to design and build the bridges this summer. They will incorporate pedestrian access for the greenway system as per the town requirements.

Replacing Heritage Wake Forest Bridges?

After designing, the projects will go to bid. Construction will not begin prior to 2013. Are they in need of repair? You bet! Both bridges are over 40 years old. From Carol Pelosi: “The Rogers Road (SR 2052) bridge is structurally deficient. Its project number is B-132. The Forestville Road (SR 2049) bridge is called functionally obsolete, meaning it may be sturdy but it cannot meet the demands of the kinds of traffic now on that road.”

Sheetz has chosen Heritage Wake Forest!

Heritage Wake Forest continues to sell homes. Because of this they continue to bring in more retail business as well. In addition to the McDonalds that is coming to Forestville Rd., the corner of Rogers Rd. and Franklin Street will soon see a new Sheetz gas station! OK, I have to admit that it was my wife, the lovely and talented Jennifer, that turned me on to her home state of Pennsylvania owned Sheetz gas stations initially. Fact is she has always liked them because they are “well lit”. She feels safer because of this. But it does not end there Wake Forest…Sheetz offers more than your every day run of the mill gas station. Their convenience store is just that….convenient! Carrying a wide variety of goods. Let’s be honest….you have each tried a sandwich on one of their pretzel (Pennsylvania right!) rolls too.

Dust off the old ball, grab those stylish 1977 shoes, grab the wrist thingy and your bowling towel…..it is time to hit the lanes in Wake Forest. Wake Forest residents will be able to enjoy this classic form of entertainment as soon as April! Craig Briner with Green Hawk Properties is in negotiations with Wake Falls LLC partner Doug Pearce. Pearce, the owner of the ever popular, Over The Falls Deli in downtown Wake Forest is hoping to create a new vibe in downtown. He is moving the deli to the building located on Brooks Street that houses Classic Cars and Tuxedo Junction. Conveniently enough the bowling alley will occupy the space formerly held by Cross-Roads Entertainment. The Alley will also feature a 40-60 seat sports bar and 75 seat party room. This, along with the White Street Brewery that is scheduled to open this year certainly will add a new vibe! Looking forward to seeing YOU in Wake Forest! We are your Wake Forest NC Real Estate EXPERTS! We are Wake Forest Listing Agents and Wake Forest Buyer’s Agents. Call us!

For those of you that have visited downtown Wake Forest over the past year and a half you may have noticed Yum Yum. The statue of a little girl on loan from a promising artist. After one year she was supposed to have been picked up by the artist, John Seward. However, like many a famous artist once lived Mr. Seward is experiencing financial troubles and cannot afford to have it shipped back at this time. Although we feel for Mr. Seward, we are thankful on behalf of the downtown district to have his art…even if it is for just a bit longer. Glad to have you here, Yum Yum.

Wake Forest residents that came out to see the 2011 Wake Forest Christmas Parade enjoyed spectacular weather and grand entertainment! Our little town in the forest of Wake continues to amaze me. Fact is the community feel and the spirit of the residents is unmatched by any other town here in Wake County! No wonder we continue to grow.

All of us here at WakeForestHomes.com want to wish you and yours a very special and Merry Christmas. We are always ready to serve your real estate needs with one exception. We will not be available on December 25th as we prepare for the celebration that is the birth of our Savior. Join us in celebrating a special time and then let’s look forward to a healthy and wonderful 2012 TOGETHER!

(By the way, let me also add that we do not work on Mother’s Day. It’s ok to work on Father’s Day…but come on…we owe it to our mother’s to spend that day with them!)
