It’s time to start making plans for this years 4th of July festivities – and what better place to celebrate than beautiful Wake Forest, NC! With a jammed packed schedule starting Monday, July 3rd rolling straight through to the afternoon of July 4th, Wake Forest knowns how to throw a party for July 4th!! A true family-friendly event with fireworks, arts & games in the park and even a children’s parade. Take a look at this fun activity lineup Wake Forest has in store for you:
Monday, July 3rd at Wake Forest High School: 420 West Stadium Drive – Gates will open at 5:30pm and admission is only $5 per person. There will be plenty of entertainment on-hand including the Band of Oz (a popular beach music band who holds the title of a 1997 Beach Music Hall of Fame inductee).
There will be three food trucks on hand including Fuzzy’s Empanadas, Charlie’s Kabobs and Lumpy’s Ice Cream. In addition, there will be concessions including hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn and more – so come hungry! Remember to bring cash!!
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers or picnics baskets – but keep in mind that alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the Wake Forest High School campus, and that all coolers and baskets will be inspected by the Wake Forest Police Department.
This years fireworks will happen at dusk and are promised to be “bigger and better than ever”!
Tuesday, July 4th at Wake Forest Community House: 133 West Own Ave, Wake Forest – Line up begins at 10am at the intersection of N. Main Street and W. Juniper Ave, Wake Forest. The parade will begin right at 10:30am. To cheer along these young patriotic community members, line up along North Main Street or along these roadways. (click to view map)
Those who would like to participate in the parade are invited to ride their bicycles, be pulled in a wagon or walk. All youngsters riding their bikes must wear a helmet – safety first!
ART & GAMES IN THE PARK
Tuesday, July 4th at Holding Park & R.H. Forrest Field: 133 & 123 West Own Ave, Wake Forest – The fun starts at 11am sharp and admission is free!! Does a day of giant inflatables, sack races, pie eating contest, arts & crafts, decorating sun visors, K9 unit demonstration, fire truck display and watermelon seed spitting contest sound like FUN?!? We think so!!
