6 Thanksgiving Turkey Trots in the Triangle for Family Fun

Sign-up now for an upcoming Thanksgiving Turkey Trot taking place in the Triangle! Burn off those holiday calories either with a pre-Thanksgiving run or lace up your sneakers on Thanksgiving Day! Many families make this an annual tradtiton, join in the fun. Wake Forest Race spotlight: Wake Forest is home to the one of the area’s biggest Thanksgiving Day runs. The Gobbler’s Run Thanksgiving Day 5K Family Event takes you through Historic Downtown Wake Forest and benefits the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club. The race has generated $255,000 for the Wake Forest Boys & Girls Club over the past ten years. The Gobbler’s Run 5K helps provide life-enhancing programs and services for more than 1,000 children and teens in Wake Forest each year. The course is open to runners and walkers of all ages; pets and strollers are welcome. Parking will be available at Wake Forest Elementary School behind the Boys & Girls Club. Bring the whole family out for this local family-oriented race. Kids under 5 are free. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female finishers in the following categories: overall, 6-9, 10-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.

 

Town of Apex Community Turkey Trot

7th Annual Durham Academy Turkey Trot – Durham

Thanksgiving Turkey Trot – Fuquay Varina Community Center

Students will hear a brief history of Thanksgiving, and participate in a game called “Turkey Trot.” Turkey Trot is a game similar to tag so be sure to wear running shoes and prepare for outdoor activity.

11th Annual Gobbler’s Run Thanksgiving Day 5K – Wake Forest

This year the Jim Allen Group presents the 5K Family Event through historic downtown Wake Forest to benefit the local Boys & Girls Club. The course will be open to runners and walkers of all ages; pets and strollers are welcome. This event is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day to encourage the entire family to run/walk together.

Ridgewood Turkey Trot – Raleigh

Work up an appetite for Thanksgiving Dinner and help fight Multiple Sclerosis at the Triangle area’s favorite Thanksgiving event – the Ridgewood Turkey Trot. Bring the family to the Ridgewood Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. Events include competitive and recreational 8K’s and a 100-yard Kid’s Dash (age 7 and under). During the 8K, kids can decorate the finish chute road with sidewalk chalk or make signs to cheer for mom or dad. The last day to register and receive a race shirt is November 13.
