Michaels Grand Opening in Wake Forest

The time has come! Michaels in Wake Forest is having their Grand Opening on Sunday, July 19th!

Way back in October, we told you that the rumors were true, and Michaels, along with other stores, were set to come to Wake Forest Crossing on Capital Boulevard. Michaels is the first of this new set of stores to open at Wake Forest Crossing. The ribbon cutting for the new 18,645-square-foot store will be held on Sunday, July 19th at 9:45am, and doors to the store will open at 10am. While Michaels has been open since this past Wednesday at 1pm to the general public, this Grand Opening is one you’ll want to be sure you attend! Over $1500 in gift cards and prizes will be given away. There will be jewelry, stickers, art supplies and other prizes from a Plinko Prize Board along with fun for the kids and whole family. This is the place to be on Sunday!

This store has an inspiring new design which will allow for larger and wider aisles, brighter light and more inviting and warm colors. With expanded and re-organized departments, along with the wider aisles and brighter light, this store will be the one to shop at for many of your crafting needs. Some  of the departments will consist of holiday/seasonal, home decor/floral, scrapbooking/paper crafts, jewelry, kid/tween, art supplies, and custom framing.

The more expanded departments allow for a larger canvases selection, more than 200 brushes to choose from, a larger selection of all types of paints, pencils and pastels, more than 3,000 styles of stickers, additional tools for cutting, cropping, edging and stamping, thousands of styles of pre-strung/packaged beads, activity kits for kids and tweens, and a hands on framing department.

With all of these great departments, and the excitement surrounding having such a large craft and art supply store right in Wake Forest, it begs the questions of “what about those who want to craft, but have no clue where to start?” Well, you’re in luck! This Michaels store is going to offer many, if not all, of the same classes that all other Michaels stores offer. Here’s a peek at what will be available. http://www.michaels.com/classes-and-events/classesandevents

Many classes are offered right at the store, but there are a few classes offered online as well! Learning to craft right from the comfort of your own home?! Love it!

se752There are also many events and fun for the little ones as well! Most kids love to craft, so this is a great opportunity for them. The kids program is called Kids Club® and each week they offer something fresh and new. The schedule online for the new Wake Forest location is still blank, but I’m hearing that the calendar for Kids Club® is in the works and will be published soon! There will be kids classes each Saturday from 10am-Noon. The cost for each child to participate in the Kids Club® craft class is $2.

Not only is Michaels offering Wake Forest such an expansive craft and art supply store, but they are also adding jobs. We’ve heard that at least 60 positions will be filled when all is said and done. To apply, visit the store for an application.

Set to join Michaels in upcoming grand openings are TJ Maxx, PetCo and Kirkland. Those dates have no been set, although you’ll here it from us when they are!

Store Hours moving forward following the Grand Opening will be Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 9:00pm, and Sundays from 10:00am – 7:00pm.

Go ahead and pay them a visit and a give them a warm welcome to Wake Forest! 12626 Capital Blvd, Wake Forest, NC 27587
